O-Shot
The O-shot is an in-office treatment offered every 6-12 months, in which Platelet-Rich Plasma is used to regenerate blood vessels that supply the clitoris and surrounding nerves. For even better results, we can use umbilical cord derived growth factors called “Vitti Pure”
How It Works
It starts with your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP), rich in growth factors and cytokines that can repair and regenerate tissue, blood vessels, and nerves in your body.
PRP is derived from blood taken from your own arm and injected into the clitoral gland and clitoral body, as well as into the anterior vaginal wall where the proliferation of nerves called the G-spot exists. The PRP stimulates the growth of new cells, vessels, collagen, and fibroblasts in this area, making it more sensitive and healthy.
As we age, growth factors reduce in number and the procedure may be less effective. In this case you may choose umbilical cord derived growth factors called “Vitti Pure” which have up to 100x more growth factors.

Many years of data using PRP for treatment of orthopedic injuries and wound healing has shown without question that PRP injections improve vascularization wherever they are used. PRP is now used in multiple applications including in the scalp to help regenerate hair and in the face to create a more youthful appearance. Studies from the O-shot itself have shown significant improvement in sexual function for the great majority of women.
A full pre-procedure evaluation is essential to confirm you’re a good candidate and to rule out issues best addressed by other treatments first. For postmenopausal patients, we typically recommend starting with hormone replacement to restore a healthy vaginal and clitoral environment — the O-Shot won’t work well in tissue that’s been affected by long-term atrophy, and hormone optimization first sets you up for the best possible results.
We use a strong topical numbing cream before the procedure, which makes it very tolerable. Most patients feel only mild pressure during the injection, which itself takes about three minutes.
You can expect to be in the office for about an hour when you have an O-shot since it takes about 30 minutes to prepare the PRP and we want to allow plenty of time to make sure that your numb for the injections
Regeneration of new blood vessels takes time, so biopsies have shown that the maximum results occur about 12 weeks after the PRP injections. Many women feel a great improvement and sensitivity almost immediately however, which comes not from the PRP itself but simply from the fact that the tissue is expanded with the injection of about 10 mL of PRP into this highly-sensitive area.
Once the blood vessel regeneration has kicked in at about three months, the results usually are perceptible for 6 to 12 months. If you’re feeling great, we recommend repeating the procedure annually and if you feel the results wearing off more quickly we can repeat the procedure as often as every six months.
You can drive yourself home, return to work, go to the gym and even have sex the same day- there is essentially no downtime. Your vaginal area will feel numb for a couple of hours and then might feel a little sore, bruised or swollen for a few days- but you don’t need to change your activities at all unless you feel uncomfortable. Most patients experience mild bleeding which can be managed with a very light panty liner for the first couple of hours.
